Zanzibar di nuovo on air su 11735 kHz

Una notte come non si "ascoltava" da tanto tempo. Propagazione aperta verso l'America Latina sui 60 metri e non solo. Tanti segnali e segnalini che avevo ormai dimenticato. Peccato non essere stati a Bocca di Magra, ma a Milano con un sacco di noise e gli ascensori che partivano sempre nel momento sbagliato!

Voice of Nigeria ha avviato il nuovo servizio da Abuja sulla frequenza storica dei 15120 kHz. Ho potuto seguire l'English service dalle 1832 alle 1959 UTC, quando hanno spento, il 16 aprile. Il segnale era buono, intorno al 9 con qualche punta più in su. La modulazione era un po' compressa. Ovviamente, con il fading, ogni tanto c'era un buco nell'audio. Il bello del DRM!

Nelle scorse notti la propagazione è stata un po' migliore del solito, inoltre ci sono state alcune combinazioni positive. Ne sono venuti fuori degli ascolti un po' particolari. Tra l'altro ho rimesso in funzione anche il vecchio Drake R-4C che come audio resta davvero una bomba.

In questo periodo, tra alti e bassi solari, è possibile fare ascolti un po' diversi dal solito, anche in città. In particolare nelle bande alte delle HF. Domenica 22 ad esempio c'era molta attività sopra i 25 Mhz: radioamatori canadesi, venezuelani, russi... CB inglesi e dei Paesi dell'est... taxi russi. Allora mi sono messo a cercare di fare un po' di ascolti, sulle orme degli amici Mauro Giroletti e Leo Bolli, che nei giorni precedenti avevano riportato ascolti simpatici.

Ecco qualche ascolto fatto a Pescia, in Toscana, con la nuova antenna windom lunga 60 metri che mi ha costruito l'amico Alessandro Capra. E' stata però montata alla mia maniere, insomma alla meno peggio. Nel senso che da solo non potevo tirare giù il palo che ho sul tetto e issarla come dovuto in alto. Allora mi sono arrangiato montandola bassa con un andamento a zeta. Insomma la "Zorro windom". Comunque, rispetto alla filare di 30 metri montata in alto ha dimostrata di andare meglio quasi sempre. Ecco qualche ascolto in onde corte. Il ricevitore è l'Excalibur Pro G33DDC.
