Il 29 marzo è scattato il nuovo Band plan che assegna anche ai radioamatori non americani la fetta dei dei 40 metri tra 7100 e 7200 kHz. Le stazioni broadcasting hanno così lasciato questo segmento. Qualcuna subito, altre con un paio di giorni di ritardo. Qualcun’altra ha invece resta. Si tratta di stazioni domestiche. Quindi si apre la possibilità per noi ascoltatori di poter seguire qualche emittente prima piuttosto interferita. Inoltre è arrivata una nuova stazione, Radio Hargheisa, dalla Somalia che si è posizionata qui, vicino alle emittenti di Etiopia ed Eritrea. Insomma questa è la banda del Corno d’Africa.

La propagazione continua a dare qualche segnale di vita. Anche in città si riesce a fare qualche piacevole ascolto. Ho rimesso in campo il vecchio Drake SPR-4. Con grande soddisfazione. In effetti quando il segnale c'è e non occorre lavorarlo troppo, per quanto debole il Drake riesce a dare un audio bellissimo. Le canzoni della Voz del Guaviare si apprezzano molto meglio. Radio Rebelde sembra la RAI Siziano, con solo un po' di fading.
