Ho passato due settimane a Guayaquil (Ecuador) per lavoro e ho portato con me la fida Degen 1103 ed il solito pezzo di filo lungo 5 metri. Ho ritagliato qualche ora qualche sera per fare un po' di ascolto. Due cose mi hanno colpito. La prima è quanti pochi segnali ci siano in 49 e 41 metri la sera in questa parte del pianeta; in Europa siamo abituati ad avere segnali violentissimi e tante stazioni; qui ho contato forse 10 stazioni in 49 metri con segnali tutto sommato di modesta intensità.
L'altra cosa che mi ha sorpreso (ma forse neanche tanto) è quanto vuote siano le bande tropicali; ho ascoltato 4 o 5 stazioni con una certa regolarità, incluse le "superpower" cubane; forse sarei dovuto venire da queste parti 20 anni fa....

Questi sono ascolti in onde corte, dai 49 metri andando in alto, fatti a Bocca di Magra (Liguria) e a Pescia (Toscana). Molti sono stati realizzati ancora una volta con la MaxiWhip, sempre realizzata con un filo di circa 7 metri e il balun 1:32. Stavolta ho usato due fili (invece di uno) di circa 5 metri come radiali. Confermo le impressioni positive. L'ho anche utilizzata con il mio portatile Eton E1 e anche con questo rx si è dimostrata molto performante e poco rumorosa. La mia filare di Pescia, lunga 30 metri, è molto più rumorosa, con un rapporto S/N peggiore della MaxiWhip.

Ormai è molto tempo che le bande tropicali mi si dimostrano piuttosto avare. In particolare di stazioni latinoamericane. In parte sono in via di desertificazione, ma anche la propagazione è scarsa. Comunque una spazzolata ce la do sempre. Pazienza e perseveranza... chissà che prima o poi non torni ad ascoltare qualcosa di più interessante. (Nell'immagine The Voice of Armenia starting)

Propagazione aperta verso il Nord America sulle HF anche verso il basso. Per la prima volta sono riuscito a ricevere una stazione pirata dal Nord America sui 6925 kHz: si tratta di Commander Bunny (il comandante coniglio) di New York che usa il call (falso) WBNY e annuncia anche Bunny New York. In realtà dalle chat si capiva che erano in aria diverse altre pirata americane e anche una canadese, poco sotto Bunny, ma di queste non vedevo nemmeno la portante.

Sui 6070 invece arrivava, seppure sotto la Belarussia, la canadese CFRX da Toronto, a tratti anche abbastanza chiara. Era in parallelo con la stazione in onde medie di Toronto CFRB ascoltata via internet, come verifica.

La propagazione è buona anche verso il Nord America. I 28 MHZ sono pieni di segnali USA e canadesi. Come se non bastasse sui 27 MHz arrivano di giorno anche i taxi russi in FM e forse di altri Paesi dell'Est Europa, come si vede in questa immagine:

Mi è arrivato da poco il nuovo ricevitore G33DDC Excalibur Pro della Winradio. Un SDR piuttosto sofisticato e un po' più complicato nell'uso rispetto ad altri SDR. Infatti è molto personizzabile, in quanto offre molte possibilità di scelta dei vari parametri. A cominciare dall'audio, molto flessibile e con la possibilità di scegliere i settaggi più adatti all'ascolto in particolari condizioni. Inoltre può registrare fino a 4 MHz di banda.

Per provarlo sono andato un po' a spasso per le onde corte. Purtroppo per andare in basso devo aspettare di uscire da Milano. Qui il noise è veramente forte.
